Have you always wanted to paint outdoors or en plein air?

If you’re new to painting, or are fairly experienced but never quite had the nerve to paint outdoors, this is the perfect workshop for you! There are important techniques and tips that will help you enormously as you enjoy this new way of painting. It can be a bit daunting if you’ve never tried it before, so the relative privacy of the pretty Stroudwater canal nearby is perfect.

But first, gather in our Attic Studio for an introduction to the day and a demonstration. You’ll think about composition, ‘all that green’, colour mixing and you can ask as many questions as you like. Sarah will show you how you can combine sketches, photographs and studio time to achieve a successful finished piece. In the last few hours of the day, you’ll return to the Attic Studio to finish off.

Feel free to paint in whatever medium you prefer – oils, water based oils, acrylics or watercolour. You will need a few key pieces of painting equipment that will set you up for future adventures.
