One Hundred to One from the Shard

SOLD

Winner of the Cass Art prize at the RI exhibition 2020.  Read the winning interview here. This painting is composed from 100 small pieces of watercolour paper, each painted separately.  By constructing the work this way I was able to concentrate on the colours and mark making, weaving colours together and looking at the image in a more abstract way.  The result is an interesting commentary on not only a busy and constantly moving city but also the varying mood of the artist while painting.

It is float mounted in a simple white frame .
